Our house is located a few blocks away from a school, and the window in Justin's room offers us a clear view of the cars (as well as people) coming and going to that school.
This is the story of one of those people -- specifically, a father bringing his son to school.
Every morning, he parks his SUV in front of our house, most likely because they want to avoid the gridlock near the school, and probably because we have a tree that offers shade.
Every morning, when they alight from the car, this father kneels behind his son and adjusts the kid's uniform -- he tugs at the pleats of his polo jacket, tugs the hem of his shorts, and folds his socks. Then he moves to kneel in front of his son, brushes the shoulders, fixes the collar, tugs at the sleeves, and again at the front pleats of the polo jacket.
When all this done, there is the final touch: facing the tinted windows of his SUV, this dad takes out a comb and runs it through his hair...then turns and combs his son's hair.
After which he takes his kid's hand on one hand, and his kid's schoolbag on the other hand, and together they cross the street and go off to school.
Every morning, it's like this.
And every morning I have become something of a stalker, waiting and watching them by the window, my heart melting every single time.
This father is not particularly good-looking... he's a bit pudgy around the waistline and his hairstyle is out of date... pero crush ko na siya.
