I don't know when exactly I started, but I now make it a point to also read the Obituaries section of the newspaper. Call me uzi, but I always take note of the following:
How old the deceased was (the older the better)...
How many kids, grandkids, or even great-grandkids he/she has (the more the merrier)...
And where the wake is being held (okay, here I'm just being plain nosy).
Eric says I'm being morbid, but I feel it's no different than reading about a person dying in the Metro section of the paper. At least there's more dignity in the obits.
