Simple pleasures

The best things in my life are not necessarily free... or expensive... They're the little things that make me smile, sigh, or squeal with delight (and people who know me know I rarely squeal). Such as:

-- Strolling into Powerbooks Megamall on a whim and finding out that it's their Annual Summer Sale! 20% off on all imported books! Until April 30!
-- Egg tarts from Lord Stow's Bakery
-- Yakult
-- Sleeping on freshly-laundered bedsheets
-- My bolster pillow
-- Successfully downloading an episode of season 4 Smallville
-- Coming across an unfamiliar but good movie on cable
-- Coming across an unfamiliar but good song that my brothers had downloaded into our computer (my latest discoveries: Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down and Clementine by Mark Owen)
-- When I'm wearing my am-not-in-the-mood-to-dress-up jeans and T-shirt and Eric still tells me I look hot great nice
-- Trying out a new restaurant and finishing the entire meal without any regrets
-- When my masungit baby cousin deigns to give me a kiss on the cheek... and I didn't even have to bribe her with food!
-- Not having to wake up in the middle of the night (and interrupting the dream I was having of me and Julian McMahon) to pee
-- Short lines by the ATM when it's payday
-- When Eric calls me in the middle of the workday just to say "hi"
-- Girls' nights out
-- Running into former professors at the mall and finding out they still remember me
-- Good hair days
-- Finding the perfect pair of jeans... at 50% off!
-- Hugh Jackman's smile
-- 3-day weekends

Share yours!

my own simple pleasures:

1.) Taking a gamble on the Massey Tunnel going home from work and finding the traffic there is alright.
2.) Lazy Saturdays.
3.) Getting a txt message from that special someone.
4.) Beating the other players in #fairview channel trivia.
5.) Looking at the snow capped mountain from my office window.
6.) A large cup of Tim Horton's double double coffee. (double sugar, double cream.)

Yes, there are so many simple pleasures in life that are free or inexpensive. As the saying goes, we just have to stop and smell the roses.
